I accidentally tried using my EasyDisk in Windows 98SE without installing the EasyDisk Driver first.
If you have already inserted the EasyDisk before installing the Win 98 drivers your computer has already seen new hardware but was unable to identify the EasyDisk. You will need to perform the procedure below.
a. From the control panel, open up your device manager. In the list of devices look for every reference to USB in the hardware list. You will need to manually delete each and every instance of USB from your list. You will see something like USB Root Hub, USBIntel...(chipset), etc etc. Delete Root Hub first then the rest. This will erase all USB drivers previous installed in the system.
b. Reboot your computer and Windows 98 will automatically find all your USB ports again. Once this is done, install the EasyDisk driver from your CD Rom or from our web site.
c. Once the EasyDisk Driver is installed, you will be able to insert the EasyDisk and it should work fine.

I have several drives on my computer, when I install my EasyDisk, nothing comes up. How do I fix this?
First enlarge "My Computer" to full screen and refresh, or you can try your EasyDisk on a different computer to see if it works properly. If the EasyDisk does not work on both computers, it could be bad. Please summit the trouble ticket and obtain a RMA number for replacement. If it works fine with the second computer, there is possibility that other USB devices in the first computer have conflicts with EasyDisk. You would need to go to the control panel, open up your device manager. In end of the list is "Universal Serial Bus controllers" and you should see devices like USB Root Hub, USBIntel...(chipset), etc etc under it. Delete Root Hub first then the rest, and the "Universal Serial Bus controllers" will disappear after that. This procedure will erase all USB drivers previous installed in the system.
Reboot your computer and Windows will automatically find all your USB ports again. Once this is done, install the EasyDisk driver from your CD Rom or from our website on Windows 98SE computers, or just plug in EasyDisk on the systems with Windows ME, Windows 2000, or Windows XP OS.
Once the EasyDisk Driver is installed, EasyDisk should work fine.

You need to first confirm that your USB ports are working correctly. You can check your "system devices" from the "Control Panel" and confirm that your USB ports are working, if not you need to reference/contact your motherboard or system manufacturer.
Now that you know your USB ports are working, you FIRST need to install the EasyDisk driver before using the EasyDisk. This can be found on your installation diskette or can be downloaded from www.easydisk.com. Once this is done, you can reboot.

I accidentally erased data or directories from my EasyDisk, can I restore them.
Your computer sees EasyDisk just like any other hard drive - unless your computer is configured to have these files moved to your recycle bin, there is no way to restore deleted data.

When I insert my EasyDisk my computer tells me "new hardware found" and the drive letter appears, but when I try to access the EasyDisk I am told the drive has been disconnected.
Insert the EasyDisk, and before you try to access it, click on the "remove/unplug" icon in the system tray, and remove the EasyDisk. Once your computer says it is safe to remove the EasyDisk, do so and then plug it back in. The EasyDisk should function normally now.
